Certification Service

You will not have achieved carbon offset by just purchasing the carbon credit. Double accounting may result from
resale of the very same carbon credit that you purchased. It is important to nullify the credit to complete carbon
offsetting. There are certification services that will independently check up from calculation of CO2 emissions
within the defined boundary to nullification of the carbon credit.

Carbon Offset Provider Servises

Carbon offset providers will purchase carbon credit and nullify it on behalf of you. There are offset providers
which provide you with an “offset certificate” as proof of completion of the offset.


	Individuals can’t open accounts at National Registry so that they need to use carbon offset providers to complete carbon offset. Companies may use carbon offset providers so that they will save many steps to open their own accounts and to transfer carbon credits into a cancelation /retirement account.
